Project Description

  1. Tailoring project: started 1996 for displaced mothers and drought victims. So far 142 mothers graduated and have started tailoring business in small capacities within the Mandera markets. Some 20 alumni still linked to the organization for management support are now employers within the Mandera market.
  2. Trained and facilitated the formation of nine youth groups (2 in Mandera South and 3 in Mandera town and 4 in El-wak Somalia), eight women groups (3 in Mandera South and 5 in Takaba) and 4 water point management groups in Elwak district.
  3. Guidance and career counselling to schoolgirls.
  4. We will develop a conceptual approach to development that focuses on understanding the obstacles that inhibit our people, from realizing their developmental goals while enhancing the abilities that will allow them to achieve measurable and sustainable results, also strengthening their skills, competencies and abilities so they can overcome the causes of their exclusion and suffering
